I am Benjamin Niedzielski, an independent Software Developer. On this site, you can find information about me and my work in software development, pedagogy, and the field of Digital Humanities.
In my most recent role, I worked closely with B Capital, leading integrations and Data Engineering initiatives. I worked heavily in Python, PHP, SQL, and AWS during that time, though I am comfortable jumping across languages and technologies.
My most recent personal project involves retro video game randomization, using a combination of Python, C#.NET, and MIPS Assembly Language. As of April 2026, this project has more than 630 followers and an active user base.
From time to time, I take on interesting education and Digital Humanities projects, as well. I am a co-creator of the Question Bank Quick Builder tool, a Google Sheets plugin designed to help instructors to create quizzes in Moodle-based systems. As of April 2026, Question Bank Quick Builder has over 84,000 downloads and a 4.9/5.0 rating.
I have also held several roles in UCLA’s RomeLab project. I have worked in Unity (C#), D3.js, SPARQL, and Python to assemble interactive visualizations for research on the Roman Forum and funeral.
I have received M.A.s from the University of California, Los Angeles (Indo-European Studies, specializing in Indic Linguistics) and the University of Kansas (Classics).
I have formal training in Mathematics and Computer Science (Sc.B., Brown University) and Digital Humanities (Graduate Certificate, UCLA).
